The new year is almost upon us and to send out 2017 on a high note, Masons Restaurant Bar have created a delicious 7 course taster menu for New Year’s Eve. Kick start your celebrations with our dedicated team who are ready to ‘wow’ with stellar service and heavenly food.
Masons Restaurant Bar officially opened on Friday 3rd November 2017 and in this short time, Masons has received amazing feedback and reviews including features in publications such as the Manchester Evening News and I Love Manchester. Solidifying Masons as the new kid on the block and a worthy place to eat in Manchester city centre.
Masons Head Chef Nathan, tells what inspired him to create the dishes on our hearty menu.
“The inspiration behind the NYE menu comes from the mixed background of myself and Piotr our Sous Chef. He has a Polish background where beetroot and cabbage are used a lot in dishes. This influenced the Beetroot consomme which is a popular festive appetizer.
For me, the cod fillet with salt and vinegar sauce brings back childhood memories of a good bag of salt and vinegar crisps or having salt and vinegar for Friday night chippy with the family. I used to walk the dog with with my dad as a child in Reddisher woods, Ramsbottom. We’d often see a lot of wild deer roaming around hence the venison steak dish with black garlic puree. The use of black garlic also comes from living in Ramsbottom – as Ramsbottoms original name is “wild garlic valley”.
As we all know too well, chocolate is something everyone enjoys during the festive season. I felt a chocolate dessert would be the perfect close to a meal, adding spice and warmth through the rum in the macaron.”
